About us
Since 1994 we have been making sure exchange students feel at home in Warsaw.

How we got here
- 1994
The first ESN section in Poland
It all started in May 1994, when the first ESN section in Poland, ESN Warsaw, was set up at SGH. That is the moment we count as the start of our story.
- 1998
ESN SGH is born
As new sections kept appearing in Warsaw and around the country, we took the name ESN SGH in 1998. The job back then was the same as now: helping international students settle in, side by side with the university.
- 2003
First nationwide meeting
Our then-president Artur Orłowski and Michał Zasada from ESN Gdańsk brought every Polish section together for the first time. That meeting is also where ESNcard got its start, a project born at SGH that later grew into one of the cornerstones of ESN across Europe.
- 2005
ESN Poland registered
In 2005 the ESN Poland Association was officially registered and we became part of a network that today brings together 27 sections in cities across the country.

A full palette of projects
At the beginning we were really doing one thing: helping Erasmus students find their feet in a new place. With every new cohort the list kept growing. We open Polish culture to exchange students (ESNcard, Buddy, ESN Travel, Summer University Warsaw, International Dinner), and we also run things for SGHers themselves (Down to Business, Found Your Future), for high-schoolers (Projekt Nauka, Kierunek Ekonomia) and for our Warsaw neighbours (Manufaktura Kultury).
